2009 Youth Risk Behavior Survey
The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and the Forsyth County Department of Public Health are pleased to present their first local Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) results which were administered in both middle and high schools in March 2009.
The purpose of these reports are to identify prevalence of specific health risk behaviors; compare local youth behavior patterns to county & state data; and develop interventions to address such behaviors. The results of the Middle & High School surveys highlight many positive findings and identify certain behaviors that could result in serious health consequences. Caution should be taken when interpreting the data; trend (multi-year) analysis would be more reliable.
