A 20-ounce bottle of regular soda, sweet tea, or even 100% fruit juice has about 250-300 calories. Drinking two 20-oz bottles of soda a day adds 500 calories to your diet! If you cut out the two 20-oz sodas, you would cut 500 calories from your diet, which equates to losing 1 lb per week. Also, don’t forget about high calorie coffee drinks – these can also add considerable calories to your diet.
One beverage that people may cut out of their diet because they worry about calories is milk. Milk is full of protein and vitamins A and D and should be included in a healthy diet. Of course, you can always use yogurt, lowfat cheeses, soy milk, or almond milk (with added vitamin D).
