Physical activity is important for the entire family. Adults need 2½ hours a week of physical activity and children need 60 minutes a day. Here are a few ways for you and your family to add more physical activity to your family’s busy schedule.
You can start by setting specific activity times for the family like after dinner or begin the weekend with a Saturday morning walk. You can also use what you have available, for example, walk in your neighborhood, play tag, or jump rope. Try setting a rule that no one can spend over 2 hours per day playing video games, watching TV, or using the computer (except for school work).
