Prediabetes and Diabetes Awareness and Education
Healthkick is offering you the chance to take control of your health through a diabetes prevention program called Prevent T2. Prevent T2 is an evidenced based diabetes prevention program developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Throughout the program you will learn about healthy eating, meal planning, exercise, living an active lifestyle and overcoming barriers. 1 out of 3 Americans have prediabetes and 9 out of 10 people with prediabetes do not know they have it. Prediabetes means your blood sugar (glucose) is higher than normal, but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. Just because you were diagnosed with prediabetes does not mean you will develop diabetes down the road. It is just a warning sign to take control of your health. Having prediabetes is a serious issue and if you do not take the adequate steps to take control of your health you may end up developing diabetes.
