The Forsyth County Departments of Social Services and Public Health will be among the hosts of the Highland Avenue Block Party on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at 650 N. Highland Ave.
The block party will feature free food, clothing, prizes, flu shots, health screenings and STD/HIV testing. The event will offer the opportunity to enroll or re-enroll in Medicaid, and to talk directly to the four health plan providers about the Dec. 13 enrollment deadline. Other services offered will be WIC applications, food and healthcare assistance, mammograms, voter registration and employment assistance. There will also be a kids corner with games, snacks and face painting.
Other event hosts include Highland Avenue Primary Care, First Baptist Church, Cardinal Innovations, Daymark Recovery Services, Ministers' Conference WS, AmeriHealth Caritas, BCBS Healthy Blue, UnitedHealthcare and WellCare.
Medicaid enrollment sessions with the health plan providers are also being held at the Department of Social Services, 741 N. Highland Ave, on the following Tuesdays: October 29th, and November 12th & 26th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
