COVID vaccinations and information related to rental assistance will be among the services available at the 6th Congressional District Town Hall on Thursday, July 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rupert Bell Park, 1501 Mt. Zion Place, Winston-Salem.
COVID vaccinations will be provided by the Forsyth County Department of Public health. They are free and available for anyone 12 and up. No insurance or ID is needed.
Forsyth County Department of Social Services will help residents schedule an appointment with the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) application lab. ERAP is a federal program that assists with rent and utilities for renters who have financial hardship because of the COVID-19 pandemic and a household income that is 80 percent or less of area median income. Applicants should bring ID, proof of income, an eviction notice or bill showing what they owe their landlord or utility company along with proof of hardship, which can be proof of change in income or a personally written statement of financial hardship.
Forsyth County Public Health’s Baby Love Plus, which links babies and their parents with important health care and support services, will also be there.
There will be many other organizations and agencies present at this event organized by Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods offering COVID-19 testing, blood pressure screenings, mental and emotional well being screenings and more. Congresswoman Kathy Manning will be the featured guest speaker.
