Deputy III T.W. Dawes has been selected as the Enforcement Staff Member of the Month. On April 28, 2026, Deputy Dawes was called to a possible altercation occurring between 2 female students in the cafeteria of Mount Tabor High School. Upon arrival, Deputy Dawes saw one female “dressing down” and about to engage in a physical altercation with the other female student. Deputy Dawes quickly escorted the female away from the area and proceeded to escort her to the front office of the school. While escorting the female student, she resisted Deputy Dawes numerous times and even assaulted Deputy Dawes by kicking him in the genitals. The female student was restrained and eventually calmed down. I would like to commend Deputy Dawes for keeping his composure and staying professional even after being assaulted himself. Deputy Dawes did an outstanding job by not retaliating in an unprofessional manner and causing any negative views toward the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office or the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. Deputy Dawes deserves recognition that he shows great role model traits for other deputies within the Sheriff’s Office for remaining professional. A job well done by Deputy Dawes.
